Q&A: Attorneys or Insurance agents HELP!?

Question by David M: Attorneys or Insurance agents HELP!?
I bought a harley from a guy over a year ago, registered it and got tags 2 years in a row. Now the FBI has done a sting and taken my bike claiming it’s a vehicle. I am a victim in this situation and was told so by the State Police and FBI. They said my ins. co. (State Farm) may cover this. I contacted them and they said under my policy that vehicles seized by the aren’t covered. I could know this if I had done something illegal like selling drugs and they seized it but I’m an innocent victim. My insurance company is willing to further investigate, is there any clause you know of any keywords I need to use to help with my situation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I was give a title with the bike (not car)
The DMV registered it. The VIN was a homemade VIN and wasn’t on a list. None of us knew including the DMV.

I am not a victim of insurance fraud. Obviuosly you don’t know the situation or even the fact that it’s a motorcycle not a car, but I appreciate your effort.

gov’t auctions are via each gov’t body, check their websites, or call the treasurer’s office for a list. most are too bone idle to help and tell you to check the papers daily for auction notices.

Location in or around Tacoma for police auction auto car?

Question by vikasintl: Location in or around Tacoma for police auction car?
Where is the location for car auction in or around Tacoma?
I want to know if police or has any auctions where they sell seized cars?
If police is not directly involved in auction, how do they get rid of vehicles they have seized? do they give it to towing company? and those towing company has auctions ? or police is having those auctions at a particular location?

Best answer:

Answer by Crysta U
vikasintl, I found a review of several auction and seized sites. http://www.autoadviceonline.com/-Seized--Auctions.html These sites can probably answer your questions. But they cost a small fee to join, but I couldn’t find any free resources online. Since the vehicles are always being sold, your signup fee is probably used to use people to keep the site up to date.

What recourse does a citizen have to appeal an illegal action by the government?

Question by Jeffrey V: What recourse does a have to appeal an illegal action by the ?
I was forced into retirement by the IRS in retaliation for having made complaints to my elected representatives of
certain abusive and illegal practices being used to attempt to
force me to pay a tax debt owed by my wifes former spouse.
My health has been ruined, and I am now terminally ill with
a degenerative heart condition, resulting from 6 years of this
callous, unrelenting harassment. I was told that unless I paid,
I could lose my job, or I could have my wages garnished.
Despite filing chapter 7 in which my spouses student loans
were also listed and discharged, the has now
seized my tax refund as well as my SSDI payment. As a result,
I face eviction from my home due to inability to pay rent, as well
as inability to buy medication that I need to live, among a list
of other consequences too long to list.
If there is a law firm out there who could help, or if anyone has any thoughts at all, I am truly desparate.

Best answer:

Answer by coragryph
It depends on the type of illegal activity.

But the general recourse is a civil lawsuit against the agency (or govt official) who authorized/performed the illegal action.

Did you get a title at the TIME of sale? They’re required for the sale to be legal and for you to title the motorcycle in your name.

Read every word (including the tiny print) in your insurance policy. Also read all those small “changes in coverage” slips the send with your bill.

Unless you paid cash for it, your lending institution should have questioned for a title and bill of sale at the time they financed it for you.

What do you reckon? Answer below!
